Christmas is Coming

Christmas comes but once a year. Every year it’s the same date – 25 December – and yet every year it seems to catch us by surprise. With Christmas around a month away, it is time to bring Christmas collateral to the top of your to-do list.

Sending your clients and vendors an end-of-year message is a savvy business move. It’s an opportunity to show how much you value doing business with them, to reinforce your brand identity and build on your business relationship. It’s also a chance to spread a little good cheer out into the world.

Don’t forget your employees. Sending a card to let them know how much you appreciate all they have done over the past year can boost morale and enhance positivity in the workplace.

Whether you are sending digital or print material, there are a few guidelines to follow:

  • Make sure you personalise your message for maximum impact;
  • Keep the design and message tasteful and generic – not everyone shares the same sense of humour and you don’t want to inadvertently offend someone;
  • Make your message stand out from the crowd;
  • Don’t be late – aim to have your message land by mid-December at the latest (if you are running late, consider sending New Year greetings instead).

Printed cards are tangible and are often placed on desks and around the office visible to all over the Christmas weeks. Digital material can reach everyone’s inbox and can be lots of fun.

Animated motion graphics or video Christmas cards can breathe life into your story.

Whatever form you choose to use for your message, organising sooner rather than later is key. Don’t wait until you hear it’s only 10 days until Christmas. Act now!
