Versatile Templates Simplifying UQ’s Corporate And Academic Materials

Background

The University of Queensland engaged us to create an extensive suite of PowerPoint and Word templates to support users with varying design skills. Their request focused on creating templates that reflected a premium, on-brand aesthetic and were easy for anyone to use. Each file had specific requirements: it had to adhere to naming conventions, maintain strict font usage, and remain a reasonable file size. The project included the need for a wide range of collateral, from academic posters to corporate presentations, and from internal signage to seasonal greeting cards to be translated into PowerPoint and Word.

What we did

We developed a cohesive and user-friendly template suite in both PowerPoint and Word, customised to reflect the UQ’s brand identity across each deliverable. For PowerPoint, we created versatile options: a 30-slide general template, a 40-slide corporate template, an A4 report layout, intro/outro video slides, and 10 academic posters. Internal signage, flyers, and branded cards for various occasions were also included. On the Word side, we built detailed templates for reports, theses, and CVs. By focusing on intuitive layouts and brand consistency, we ensured that each template was easy to use, polished, and effective, meeting all file specifications and eliminating the need for design software.

The result

UQ was delighted with the high-quality templates, which empowered staff and students alike to create professional, on-brand materials effortlessly. The templates' versatility and simplicity received overwhelmingly positive feedback, and their manageable file sizes made sharing and storage easy across the university's systems. This suite of resources continues to streamline collateral creation, reflecting UQ’s brand at every level, from corporate to academic.
